Starting to Look Like a House

We visited the house a couple times this weekend since we're getting so excited to close next month.  On Saturday we just went to see the siding and shutters, and on Sunday we did a full walk through with our SR.  We didn't get to pick our exterior colors but it looks nice and classic.  Our granite was installed in the kitchen as well as our backsplash.  Toilets and sinks were in all of the bathrooms.  Door handles were on the interior doors.  Everything is looking great!  Can't wait to see what we have next week!

We Have a Closing Date!

We just received an electronic copy of our settlement letter from NVR!  We will be closing on May 18th.  We're so excited to be so close to getting our new home!

We also received our weekly construction update. It was another busy week! They completed the brick on all of the homes in our row and are starting the siding. They're also working to put the second coat of paint on the walls, ceilings and trim inside our house, and they're installing all the light fixtures inside.  Next week we should get our granite in the kitchen and we might even get electricity!

Construction Update - Week 10

We came back from vacation to find a lot of progress on our house. Since we were last there the drywall was complete, cabinets were installed, and tile was started. It was so exciting to walk through and see so much done! It is really starting look like our house. As a bonus when we walked in there was crown molding in the living room and rec room which we didn't even pay for. Also we didn't realize we got metal balusters on our stairs which was a nice surprise. We can't wait to go back next weekend and see what else gets done!

Exterior Colors

We got an email from our sales rep yesterday with a picture of our exterior colors.  In our community, the exterior options are all selected by a designer.  I'm thinking this is probably normal for the townhome communities.  The community is very neutral colors, so we knew that whatever we ended up with would be fine.  It turns out we ended up with the brick I really wanted for the partial brick front!  I also love the color for our door!

The brick is Olde Columbia and will go about a third of the way up the front of the house.  The siding is Pebble Clay and the door is Fiery Brown.
